Glock Gen 2.5?
« on: June 01, 2012, 10:01:45 PM »
Have any of you ran across a Glock with all Gen 3 features except the finger groves are not textured? All of the Gen 2 I have, don't have finger grooves. All of the Gen 3 I have have textured finger grooves. I have never seen smooth finger groves before.

I have heard about a 2.5 Gen but can't say I have ever seen one. It is suppose to have the light/laser rail and no finger grooves. Glock design changes show that the 2nd Gen frame was released in March of 1989 and the 3rd Gen was released in January of 1998.

Actually a Gen 2.5 has textured finger grooves , but no light rail. I own a G30 that is a Gen 2.5

This is a G26. No light rail since its a sub compact. But the finger grooves are smooth.

I ran across this example in my safe. It's a 26. I believe its date of manufacture was 1998. The early subcompacts were like this. I believe the subcompacts started with Gen 3 but the earliest ones had a smooth frontstrap.

Hey Gibbs, here's a pic I grabbed years ago as a reference for Glock gens.
"I will accept the rules that you feel necessary to your freedom. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do." -Robert Heinlein
