That, is what is left of the reverse recoil spring stop from my 1911. At least it happened at the range during practice and not during a serious situation.
So, back to my hands and a blade until I get a replacement and make sure all other key components are up to snuff.

It's a high standard mutt with an RIA frame and WC/ Ed Brown internals.
That may have been the only stock part left on the gun...

The RIA frame is a Philly, I have never replaced this part before, it was a factory part.
In its original manufacture it was a High Standard Crusader Compact.
