Anti 2nd Amendment Cass Sustein. Vote was today.
« on: September 09, 2009, 09:26:29 PM »

This got slipped in last night around midnight by Senate majority leader Harry Reed.
By the way Ben Nelson voted to give this guy a vote. Add this to our list of reasons to throw Ben out on the next election.

I have always voted against Ben, even though he is a moderate, he still pisses me off when he sides with the liberals when he thinks he can get away with it.

Ben would not like the email I just sent him, too bad he never actually reads them anyway. He will vote Suckstein in, no doubt in my mind.

Sunstein was confirmed this afternoon.   >:(

At least Sen. Nelson voted against confirmation.  My call to his office last night may have helped a tiny bit.  ;)

Hopefully NFOA members did their part by contacting their Senators.

It just makes no sense for any senator from an agricultural/hunting state to vote for this man to be confirmed.

x2

The only thing it tells me is they don't care about their state enough to know what they are voting on or aren't actually representing their constituents. Either way I say GIVE EM THE BOOT.

I noticed several Democrats broke rank and voted against. Good for them I applaud them! [Webb (VA), Pryor (AR), Lincoln (AR), Nelson (NE), Begich (AK)]

Shame on the Republican traitors that stabbed us in the back! I find it repulsive that 6 Republicans voted for a guy that believes in banning hunting & that the 2nd Amendment is a collective right.

I have said it in other places (both on this forum and elsewhere) I am convinced that the party's don't matter. Both parties are going to the same place THEM IN POWER. You and I under their rule.

The breaking of rank- although in essence good- must be viewed with suspicion. Just because they broke rank means nothing. Alot of times they are "allowed" to break rank on certain issues. Especially on issues that could hurt them politically but are going to get thru anyway. So really it comes down to their intentions. Both parties have been heading toward bigger government (look at McCain he's not exactly "right wing nor is he really center- He's pretty much as far left as the Repubs could get while staying "conservative") I like you used to think that I was a republican and voted that way. Any more I am an independant, libertarian and will vote that way. The R and D mean nothing to me and honestly Nelson (although he went our way on this one) will still have me working to get his butt thrown out of there. This isn't the first time nor the last time that a Republican will stab us in the back. Unless we get some decent people in there with values and beliefs we are screwed.

This person thinks animals should be able to sue hunters. Has he ever hired Orkin to exterminate in any property? Terminex? Used Decon. "Hoist him by his own petard..."

I noticed several Democrats broke rank and voted against.

There were plenty of Dems (some spoke from the podium!) at the March on Washington Saturday. It was pretty obvious to everyone there that the Execuative branch is out of control and the Congress is not doing what it is supposed to do.

This thing is going to grow...... There will be another one next year...... between now and then, there is a lot of work to do.
The Right to Keep and BEAR Arms is enshrined explicitly in both our State and Federal Constitutions, yet most of us are afraid to actually excercise that Right, for very good reason: there is a good chance of being arrested........ and  THAT is a damned shame.  III.
