Intro & CCW Referral for Twin Cities, MN area?
« on: October 01, 2013, 10:41:54 AM »
Can anyone recommend a quality intro and CCW trainer in the Twin Cities?  Preferably the western suburbs?

The training would be for a 55 year old woman with no firearms experience.  She is in great shape and is an active athlete.  Her reason for training would be to carry a firearm for self-defense from both wild and domesticated threats during a solo kayaking trip down the entire Mississippi River.

I am from MN, but not the twin cities area.  A good place to ask this question would be the MN carry forum: http://www.carryforum.com/forum/index.php  The guy who owns the site, Andrew Rothman, gets good reviews on the forum, but I haven't taken any of his classes.  He has his own website: www.mngun.com  It looks like he offers intro and carry classes (MN doesn't have CCW, it is just a carry permit--both open and concealed are legal).  On his website it says his classes are held in Chanhassen, which is on the southwest edge of the metro.
