Hamburg Bend
« on: November 09, 2013, 05:36:43 PM »
FYI there’s some shady hill jack down on the south side of Hamburg Bend running a guild service out of a mobile home who does guided waterfowl and deer hunts.  A neighbor who is very safety conscious ran in to him as he and a friend were sighting in their deer rifles.  The guy claimed lead was hitting his trailer which was 110% impossible with the direction they were shooting.  He claimed you shouldn’t be target shooting there and was going to talk to the game warden about it.  Guess he carved out a spot in the river and hunts out of that and starts his deer hunts at $1200 IIRC!!  Guy sounds like he's up to no good.

They are also working on the berm with tractors again which they were fine with the sight in.

In the 2013 NE Big Game Guide it says on page 38 "Guiding for Fee – It is illegal to provide guide service for a fee on wildlife management area."  (Download link for big game guide PDF: http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/hunting/guides/biggame/pdfs/biggame.pdf)  If the guy is guiding for a fee on a WMA, turn him in.  Problem solved.

He's on the south side on private land which I think he leases.  Don't think he uses the WMA just doesn't want the noise of target shooting namely hi-power rifles.
