I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.  I carry a lot of ammo because I cant run very fast.

Bellevue, no stairs just the threshold step and the step off the porch. Living room to garage.

No one? The metro is confusing, it has everything but it doesn't.

If the usual rental places don't have one, try Logan Contractor Supply on about 65th & L St. in Omaha (402) 339-3900.

I own more safes than I care to think about at moving time.  I do all the moving myself, with my own tools.   I own a Johnson bar, a stair climbing heavy object floor dolly, a crane scissor lift that will put a 750 pound safe in a second story window, and a few tricks I learned over the years.  I offered to help, but my time is worth something, and we do not live in the same town.  Let me know if I can help.

You want to borrow some tools, drive to Lincoln, drive them back again, free loan.  I will require a deposit equal to the items I see going out my driveway.

Gary i really appreciate the offer. I might take you up on it sometime if I can't find anything in Omaha.  The only time I ever have a reason to go to Lincoln is when my wife has ANG drill.

Does the safe have wheels?  Or a flat bottom?

Flat bottom safes are easy to move about with a couple dozen golf balls.

If you only have one step, you can often times walk a gun safe up one step by tilting the safe back.

Be safe, is my best advice.  If no one gets hurt and the job is done, that is your goal.

Flat bottom, the 2 steps are down or out of the house. The from door threshold and the concrete porch step. It's gonna be hairy. I paid two guys and a truck to haul it from Bennington to my living room almost $400 when I got it.  :o good thing like 5 guys showed up.

You may have already figured this one out... if it has outside hinges, take the door off and move it separately.

Jim's moving & delivery in Papillion moves a lot of safes. IIRC they charge about $90 to move one. The expense of renting a hand truck, and a trailer to haul it, will likely add up to that anyway.
