carrying in the peoples republic of omaha
« on: November 26, 2013, 10:11:35 AM »
I was told by someone recently that Omaha still requires anyone who carries in their city to have their gun registered with the Omaha police.  My understanding is that state law forbids such a rule.  Does anyone know what the current status of this illegal act by treasonous bureaucrats is?

If you have a CCW permit, local ordinances (such as Omaha's) are null and void with respect to any concealable firearm you own with respect to the possession (including purchase) or transportation (including carrying, both open and concealed) of said firearm.

If you don't have a CCW permit, unfortunately, Omaha's ordinances are still in force.

Carry like ya own the place.

since we're talking about carrying in Omaha, may i piggy back here.

without a CCW, let's say we are driving down the road, gun, unloaded, in a case, out of reach/sight, or even go as far to say in a trunk, if pulled over, do you have to inform the officer in that case?

The only requirement to inform is in the CCW laws, so no CCW no duty to inform.

Interesting subject line.

In the 1960's and 70's Berkeley was often referred to as the "People's Republic of Berkeley".  Because that formerly middle class bedroom community became a bastion of Marxist theology.   Then, after the town council did such stuff as declaring Berkeley a "nuclear free zone", and making statements that implied it was a sovereign country,  it became known as "Berkeley, to small to be a nation, too big to be an insane asylum".

Now, we are referring to cities in Nebraska as safe harbors for philosophies which are contrary to the freedoms established by the Constitution.
