Omaha Mayor Recall Effort?
« on: August 08, 2009, 06:25:24 PM »
Has anyone heard anything about a recall effort of the Omaha mayor? He fired 130 city employees, and hired two people recently with huge salaries. Just looking to see what is happening in the Utopia.

Yes we do.   I am going to push the city council to change when the election occurs for mayor and city council members.  It should be part of the general election so we can get something of a turnout.  we had a horrible turnout for the election.  And it costs us money to have an election.  There is no good reason to have it as a separate election in the spring instead of the fall.

The fine residents of Omaha are tasting how it feels to have the city father's live by their own rules vs the laws that everyone else lives by.  This is just the latest example. Maybe they will have the courage to hold their elected officials accountable....
