EPA Backdoor gun control?

Was just listening to The Patriot channel on Sirius, they were talking about the admin closing a smelting plant in MO, a large source of lead, not sure it was specific to ammo or not, however, epa regulation closing all these plants due to new epa regulations and thus eliminating materials needed to produce ammo, etc.

They made mention that this gets around 2nd ammendment infrigement, yet still leaving us empty handed as far as further production is concerned.

I know this is a brief blurb of what was being discussed, anyone else catch the full version?  It was on Hannity this afternoon.

There was a lot of FUD about this.

--- Quote ---In any case, the bottom line for consumers is that ammunition producers do not expect the smelter's closure to lead to any imminent impact on the price or availability of lead ammunition components.  While many factors can affect the market for ammunition, this particular facility's closure should not have the dramatic impact that some have predicted.

Thanks for the link, playing a bunch of catch up here.

No problem. I was thinking the same things when I first saw those stories.

abbafandr:
Actually this is the last primary lead smelter; they deal in virgin lead ore.  There are still secondary smelters who deal with recycled lead.  This what the ammo manufacturers use.  The fight with EPA started in 2003 and has drug on for 10 years
