Could be as easy as alternating weekends. Odd months do the 1st weekend, and even number months do the second weekend.   ?

The date picked was the only open one at the time. IDPA stole it from us dammit:)

I'm fine with it either way. The whole point of having a date solidified every month was so that people could plan if they wanted to attend.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

Looks like Sen. Kintner will be attending.

Any decision made to start / gather earlier than 900AM to accommodate the Lincoln event?

As a comment, the IDPA matches start registration at 7:30, and start shooting at 8am or so.  People are done by 11am.

So making coffee earlier might require a meeting time SERIOUSLY early.  Perhaps a "lunch" coffee instead, meeting a little later?

(And then people can come try IDPA for $10, then all head over to Gretna for coffee.  Hm.  I might actually be able to do that, since it is kinda on the way back home for me...)

I think with the late notice on asking about times, let's hold off on moving the time this month.

How about February's coffee meeting is a lunch meeting instead? Say 1130 to whenever?

how many from the coffee actually shoot the matches. I don't, and 9 is fine by me

I didn't bring this up as any sort of "You need to change this!"  And I have no idea how many people both do coffee, AND shoot any sort of competition match.

My point merely was that this was scheduled at the same time (every month) as the IDPA matches, and that if there was a switch in schedule, it would potentially allow more people to both shoot IDPA and meet for coffee, instead of keeping it as an either/or sort of thing.

Indeed, if no one who meets for coffee wants to shoot IDPA, and no one who shoots IDPA wants to meet for coffee, then there is no problem.

My point was merely to bring it up such that people didn't have to choose just one, if it was a possibility.

I'm not in charge of setting up either thing---and as far as I know, there have been no changes yet to the coffee meeting time.

Whoa guys...I'm not changing anything yet. I put forth an option to alter the time of the next months coffee so that like Thomas said, if you shoot the match and want to come to the meeting, it is possible.

So what ya think? Next month make it a lunch gig?

You bring up a great point, but to add a little history, the day was picked to not conflict with the local CMP match, or Vintage Rifle Match or CMP Sporter .22 match, RYG,  but now this IDPA "thing" was scheduled.
But also this is for the members, so if there is input on how we can rotate this - whether it be days of the month, or breakfast/ brunch/ lunch,  I'll bet gsd would be interested in doing his best to accommodate.

What Jeremy said is correct. I want these meetings to work for as many people as possible. If that means we move one from time to time to accommodate a new match that was not previously scheduled, I am absolute fine with that.

I (and Jeremy) settled on the same day every month so members could plan for it, and not conflict with anything else. I honestly wouldn't mind stopping in and seeing what Ron has put together for the IDPA course.

I hope to join one of these days...... I thought I was going to get to this one, however my son had a basketball game at 10am..... I snuck into Lincoln early to shoot the IDPA match, then had to hurry back to Syracuse for BB, so I couldn't make it this time.

Great to see such a good turnout!!!
