A Boy and his Marlin

(1/2) > >>

NE Bull:
Doing what they were meant to- Hunt Wabbits.

I was uber proud of his shot.  I kicked up a cottontail which ran past me, the boy squeeled something, spun around, flicked the safety on his Marlin 80 and when that rabbit paused for a split second in the cedar tree; Crack! dead wabbit # 1 .  8)

Marlins are also great for another thing- Father/Son Bonding- Spent Saturday at the range sighting in and getting a feel for our old Marlins and today on a friend's acreage eradicating rodents. ;)

Dad's- Marlin 81DL (left)  Son's - Marlin 80 (Rigth) Both loaded with CCI Segmenting Ammo.
(Note the rabbit on the left is facing away from the camera- the segmenting bullets make head shots VERY - um- damaging- but as on the right- body shots are one hole in and energy dumped inside.)

That's great. I can't wait till me son gets a couple years older. I have a 10/22 waiting for him in the safe!

metaldoc:
Way to go!

(Brings back some good memories of hunting with my dad.)

Ghost:
Your son will always remember that day Bull.  That's what it's all about.   ;D
