Poll: LASR Steel Challenge
« on: January 17, 2014, 08:20:05 PM »
So we are going to be at the Lincoln Gun Show in a couple weeks, and a have a pretty decent amount of space. We want to set up a full-blown Steel Challenge stage with LASR and a SIRT Pistol. No entry fee, show up and shoot when you want. Everyone will have 3 runs, and can throw out their worst one. We got some nice tac lights from S&W for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Here are the stage diagrams:
http://steelchallenge.com/media/stage-diagrams.html

Yes, there will be a 10 round mag limit (software enforced)
Yes, all the targets will as close to actual distance and size as possible
To save time, we will start with pistol on the table (so you don't have to worry about a holster)

(We'll also have LASR set up on a few other computers for demos and messing around, as well as available for purchase with the laser training aides)

To me, Pendulum is the hardest easy stage. Not too large area wise, but the corner targets drive me crazy.

Smoke and hope. Name says it all. For beginners, easy large targets. For the rest of us, smoke & hope or crash.

Roundabout---straightforward, fairly close so people can be successful, but you still have to aim a little unlike Smoke N Hope's first four targets.

I am leaning towards that one as well.

BTW, if you have some literature or something for ENPS or steel challenges you want to set out, feel free.

I didn't do too bad for never havin done a steel challenge before, posted up a 6.something or other.

I was first for a while (until the second person came along)

It's actually quite fun, I'll most likely be picking up a trainer and the software in the future.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

The stage was roundabout. Winning time ended up being 3.34 seconds.

If you missed out, here is a quick phone video of the stage:
