can I do A sbr myself?
(1/1)
shooter:
I bought a century arms C-93 pistol at the Lincoln gun show. here is a pic. http://www.hinterlandoutfitters.com/century-arms-pistol-hg2175-nato-black-grips-black-finish-sights-p-38963.html
I want to SBR it so I can put a stock on it. I don't need a dealer to do that, only pull 1 pin, remove the end cap. push stock on, and replace the pin.
don't think I want to do a trust, and do not want to leave it with the dealer while waiting for the stamp. I already have 2 registered weapons, why cant I file the papers myself. getting the sherrif to sign is no problem,
bkoenig:
Yep, just file a Form 1 with the ATF. If you do go the trust route you can e-file, which cuts the wait down to about 3 months.
David Hineline:
Yes you will register the firearm on form 1 two copies, two fingerprint cards, one citizenship form and one check for $200 and some wait time. You can manuf. any NFA item for yourself except machineguns.
Think artillary.
