Nebraska Gun Rights, Anyone Heard of Them?
« on: February 16, 2014, 05:44:20 AM »
Recently I received an email from a group called Nebraska Gun Rights. I was asked to go to: http://pages.nebraskagunrights.org/firearms-protection-petition/ and sign this petition.

Does anyone know who these folks are? I get the impression they are a state level version of the National Association for Gun Rights. They don't seem to have a dedicated website. I can only find their facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/NebraskaGunRights

I'm just curious what anyone else might know about them. They seem very new.

Perhaps Bullit can confirm, but I'm guessing that they are the off-shoot of NAGR that has had booths at the gun shows lately.

This is on the bottom of their webpage:

YES Mike you are right. It's just NAGR in disguise.

Never heard of them, but from the tone of those that have it sounds like they have a less than stellar reputation. Anyone care to elaborate?

I'm going to be really angry if NAGR starts undermining what we've accomplished here.

FWIW I support NAGR - unlike the NRA they are not interested in negotiating away our 2A rights little by little like the NRA has. They are 2A purists and I DONATE money to them. I am strong armed into having an NRA membership so that I can be a member at my gun club. I don't understand why we would be concerned about them undermining anything we've done. They could be a very strong ally. I don't recall the NRA ever HELPING with ANYTHING in Nebraska.

Personally  my biggest concern is with this new name they are running with. I'm afraid folks will confuse them with us. ( trust me, there are a lot of clueless / uninformed gun owners out there.)  I just don't want us to get the reputation the have for the 'sky is falling, send us money's emails and guerrilla style mailings.
Thus far the folks at the capital know the difference because WE have been there, touching base directly with each senator and office that has put out a bill we at concerned about.  They have only visited with Kintner. yes they could be an ally, and I plan on a sit down with them to see where we all stand.
It's just I have a bad gut feeling about this. And the belly rarely tells me wrong- I keep it happy, I feed it bacon.
