Question on selling a shotgun
« on: March 27, 2014, 05:43:23 PM »
Might be a dumb question but bear with me.

I bought a shotgun from a guy at work a couple years back. No paperwork or anything like that. I now want to sell or trade it in at a local retailer. Am I going to have any trouble doing so?  The only guns I have ever traded or sold are ones I have bought through an FFL holder/retailer. Thanks

Shouldnt have any issue, I don't recall ever having seen anything to prove the sellers actually owned any of the guns I have traded for, and yes, I do hold an 01 FFL and am a gun dealer

If you sell to a pawn shop then it will be held and s/n ran against stolen records. Probably have to roll a thumbprint also.

If you sell to an individual or regular gun shop none of that would happen.
Machinegun owners blow thier load with one pull of the trigger

Thanks.  Traded it in with no problems at all. Even got 25 bucks more than I paid for it.
