Guns Save lives billboards

mercaptan:
Has there been much feedback regarding this campaign?  My only problem with it is this,  The first word out of the anti-gun crowd is that guns kill people.  Now we all know that we've never seen a gun kill someone. I was just at the Fremont gun show and with all those guns lying around, I'm pretty sure everyone made it home ok. My point is if a gun can't take a life how can it save one? I am in noway trying to disregard the efforts behing the billboard, but wanted to ask the question.

bkent:
The billboard is how I found NFOA.

As far as "Guns save."  I took it as a rift off of "Guns kill."  Kind of tongue-in-cheek for those pro-2A, but reminding those who say "guns kill" and mean it, that the opposite is also true.

^Pretty much this.  It was also a spinoff of the Guns Save Lives Day campaign: http://gunssavelivesday.com/

Which.. I see they have a new version of the book out.  I'll have to update my local mirrored copies :D

DRech:
I just joined your association yesterday.  I was in the Army for 3 years and carried a gun everyday.  I have been police officer for 34 years and I still carry a gun every day. I am alive, and probably quite a few others are alive today because people feared me shooting them. So.... guns save lives.
