I stopped at the ammo counter at Walmart (that in itself is not a surprise). I noticed shot shells in the glass case. I was giving the associate some grief about being sneaky and making it look full from a distance by stuffing all the shot shells in there.
He proceeded to tell me that they were recently "Informed" of a 1996 (or '97) city ordinance that said ALL AMMO is to be displayed behind lock and key.
He figured somebody peed the wrong person off. ( It smells of the work of some anti gun lib on a powertrip, but that's just me.)
As he stated, I'm really interested in seeing how Scheel's deals with that- All their Shotshells and Rifle Ammo are on open shelves.
(I will have to do a little digging and see if I can come up with that ordinance. Unless one of our more astute members can find it first.
