.223 Wylde BCG?

(1/2) > >>

Mudinyeri:
Anyone here running an AR in .223 Wylde?  Supposedly, it's the "hot" new chambering for AR's.

I'm working on putting an AR together to terrorize the local coyotes and am looking for recommendations - specifically a BCG right now but any other recommendations would also be appreciated.

I have a stripped lower and a LPK purchased and am looking at a 16" upper/barrel assembly without a BCG or charging handle.

Thanks.

gsd:
Research indicates that a chambering in 223 Wylde will handle the .223/5.56, BCG should make no difference. As far as I know, they are the same.

Interesting.  I would have thought the configuration would have been different.  No disrespect to your Google-foo, Dave, but I'm hoping to hear from someone who's actually build on.

gsd:
I am currently building one for my cousin. My google-foo may be weak, but I have a lot. Most everything I have found comes from ARFCOM, I am willing to lay money on those weirdos knowing what they are talking about haha.

Yep, the bolt is the same.  It's kind of a hybrid of .223 and 5.56 - IIRC it just has a little more freebore than .223 to allow it to handle 5.56 pressures.  I have one AR with that chamber.
