Wylde Stallyn Build!

(1/8) > >>

Mudinyeri:
With all apologies to Bill & Ted ... I humbly submit my Wylde Stallyn build ... based on the .223 Wylde chamber.

Wyld Stallyns!

Because a man can never have too many AR's and because I have a couple stripped lowers and LPK's sitting in my safe and because you never know when you'll need to whack a coyote ... the Wylde Stallyn project has begun.

Build Specs

Lower: PSA
LPK: PSA Classic
Trigger: TBD  Geissele SSA-E
Upper: PSA A3
BCG: Ares Armor NiB Full Auto
Charging Handle: BCM Gunfighter, Medium
Optics: Primary Arms 6X BDC Reticle
Stock: Magpul PRS LUTH-AR
Bipod: Harris S-LM
Barrel: Integrity Arms 16" Twist Fluted HBAR, 1:8 twist, Wylde Chamber (hence the title of the thread) http://www.customar15.net/shop/barrels/16-budget-1-8-hbar-barrel-wylde-fluted/

Pic of the barrel ...

Feel free to chime in with thoughts - especially on parts TBD.

For those unfamiliar with the .223 Wylde chamber ...

--- Quote ---The .223 Wylde is a proprietary rifle cartridge chamber with the external dimensions and lead angle as found in the military 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge and the 0.2240 inch freebore diameter as found in the civilian SAAMI .223 Remington cartridge. Rifles with a .223 Wylde chamber will typically accept both .223 Remington and externally slightly larger 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition.

tstuart34:
So Coyote gun? What range?

Trigger... Any price limits?

What hand guard are you running?

Mudinyeri:
Range: Probably out to about 300 yards
Trigger: No specific limits but I try to build "value" rifles (the barrel on this rifle, for example, is not stainless steel)
Hand Guard: TBD - want sling mount or sling mount capable

tstuart34:
Ok do you want two stage or a single stage trigger?

Nikon P223 3x9
Geissele G2S
And I my personal preference is I like 13" Smooth rails... I have a Troy Alpha and I have shoot MI rails. Also I might catch some grief on this but the UTG PRO Supper Slim Rail is getting decent review....

Mudinyeri:
Probably a single stage trigger.  Externally adjustable would be nice.  Not sure if such an animal exists in the AR world.

Optics, I really like my SWFA for the money.  I'm giving Vortex a try on my current .308 bolt build.
