shooter:
it will work, but it not perfect

bkoenig:
You can buy bolts that are matched to a specific barrel so that your headspace is perfect, but the actual bolts for a .223 Wylde, .223 Remington, and 5.56 Nato are all the same specs.

I do this on all my single stage triggers and I shoot for 4lbs. I also use an RRA 2 stage on my scoped 18" varmint rifle.

Are you cutting and bending the springs also?

Yes and No... I had a few hard primers in M193 surplus ammo fail to ignite with light springs until I bobbed the hammers. Right now my Home Defense rifle  has a standard spring set, but my spare rifle has a cut hammer spring ( 2 is one, one is none  ;) )

I do some work with the sear to reduce the friction and the travel required for the trigger to break.  It is not something I recommend anyone try on their own because of the possible liabilities, so I am not going to spell them out.

All this talk has me wanting to build another rifle  8)
