how many magazines are enough?

 just in case something happens, lets say aliens,  :P  How many magazines are enough? for my AR-15,s I have about 15 30 rounders each, but my H&K 53, I only have 7 40 rounders, maybe I need to get more,

Aliens? Obama is legalizing them too fast for semi-Autos to keep pace!  Joking...

Lots if variables...my opinion is that, if you think you may need more....You Do!

I have a long ways to go before I would feel "well prepared", both with firearms & other items.

Look at it as an investment....I'm one of the idiots that was trying to buy hiCap mags during the last scare....don't ask what I paid for 33 round g17 mags  :-[

buy cheap and stack em deep.  you never have enough.  the problem is keeping them loaded (and your gun) when SHTF.

Especially at today's prices on AR15 mags.

No reason to NOT have at least 15 per rifle, 5-7 per handgun.

HK mags are a different story...   :o pricey!

Realistically, semi-auto, if I need 3 or more 30 rounders in any one firefight I am probably not coming out in good shape. 

I have 9 30's for my AR.

Almost all my ammo is on 10 round stripper clips for easier reloading convenience.

I can't carry more than 7 or 8 in my vest anyway.

Good to have spares though, just in case so I need to get some more.

I have 5 15's for my 9 mm.

If you are carrying so much ammo that you can't get out of the way of "incoming", then you have too much!!!

I'd say 10 each of main rifle and main pistol and aim for 5 each for any others.  For me, that's a minimum.  you can always justify buying just 1 more.
