22LR question

landon410:
1022 has way more aftermarket stuff available but I haven't seen a 1022 that can out shoot my 597 at 100 yards

abbafandr:
The Ruger has great warranty and tons of after market options.

The 597 has a better stock mag release and bolt stays open on last shot.  There are some aftermarket options for it also.

Even those made by Miroku.

In any grade, I thru VI.

With a nice high-quality scope.

Sa-weeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Considered this, but there is nothing for this.  Ever tried to find an extra magazine for this

DenmanShooter:
I have a Winchester 1941 Model 74 that runs like a champ.

I wanted something with a detachable magazine and I settled on the 1022.

I still prefer shooting the old Winchester but the 1022 is fun with the 25 round magazines. Even though it has issues jamming if you load them with more than 20 rounds.

Since you have semi autos already, maybe a bolt action so you can shoot less and hit more?  Possibly more accurate and better trigger out of the box if you get one with the trigger blade doohickeys that allow them to ship with 3-pound pulls.

The Ruger "American Rimfire" has a lot going for it. It accepts the 10/22 magazines you already have. Recessed muzzle crown. Trigger blade doohickey with super-light / crisp pull. Adjustable length of pull by buying additional "compact" stock butt piece (nice if you have kids who want to shoot it). Good sights. Free floated barrel. Two barrel length choices.

Savage and Marlin also offer good guns with great triggers for $200 or less in their bolt guns.
