The LASR Team (MWTS and Centrolutions) are preparing to move into a much larger facility near 48th and Cornhusker in Lincoln. The facility will include ~280sqft of office space for shipping and receiving, general office stuff, and some other odds and ends. We will be having regular office hours, and walk-ins and "warehouse sales" will be welcome (although calling ahead is recommended)
AND we will have ~300 sqft of space which will dedicated for things like filming promo videos and demonstrations for visitors. In addition to this, MWTS plans to start offering regularly scheduled dryfire classes in this area.
- These would be in the evenings after office hours, and of course ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMO WILL BE PERMITTED.
- No pre-registration or pre-payment will be necessary, but the max capacity will probably be four students. (First come first serve, but you may have the option to pre-register in the future)
- These will be real classes, not sales pitches, but we will be using the tools available to enhance the dryfire drills we will practice.
- Charge for the classes will likely be about $20 for 1.5-2 hours, with a variety of discounts available. One I have in mind is 50% off if you are wearing an NFOA shirt or hat, or two for the price of one for spouses.
- You will have the option of bringing your own pistol for use with the Laser Ammo inserts, or borrowing a SIRT pistol, or both. Yes, you are encouraged to bring a holster.
- Subjects will vary. Expect anything from sight picture and trigger control to weapons retention and the use of cover. Once it is up and running, I hope to be able to post a schedule that will show the upcoming session's training objectives.
- Once it is up and running, guest instructors would be more than welcome (with pre-approval)
- The primary classes will be the same day, time, and location each week, hopefully making it easier to work into people's schedules. However, special classes, for new shooters, youth, carbine, etc, may be scheduled on different evenings/times.
The only prerequisites for students will be:
- Know the four rules of firearms safety
- Follow the four rules of firearms saftey
- Be able to load, fire, and unload your weapon (if bringing your own)
- Be able to disassemble and reassemble your weapon (if bringing your own)
- Do not have any live ammo when you enter the building. Not in your pocket, not in your bag, NONE, ZERO, ZILCH. Leave it in your vehicle.
I am hoping to start holding these classes in early July, after I return from a few weeks of training reservists in Kalifornia. We are hoping to have the office up and running by the end of the week.
So, my question for you:
What time/dates would typically work best with your schedule?Out of thin air, I am thinking Tuesdays from 6-8pm. Your input is appreciated.
