Spray paint an AR15?

how many of us have spray painted or rattle canned an AR15?  its tempting for me to do it just to mess with my ordinary AR, but has anyone done it around here?  post pics and how you did it.

Planning to do it to my Remington 700.  Probably do a couple of my AR's as well if I can find the time.  It wears off, but you can make the camo "mission-specific". 

One good idea that I've seen is to cut your camo patterns out of file folders, lay the folder on the rifle and spray the pattern.  Be sure to allow the edges to "feather" a little bit to avoid a hard-edged pattern.

Not the whole rifle, just parts.  Rustoleum makes a really good camo paint line.

I've spary painted the stock of my remington 597 a couple times.

took stock off cleaned it really well, scuffed it slightly painted a base coat, after that dried I painted over the top of it with a different contrasting color and wrapped it in plastic wrap (not neatly on purpose), after about 30 seconds I unwrapped it carefully and hung it to dry.
It looked pretty neat for about 5 years until it started wearing through and scratching off from use.

I haven't painted an AR, but I gave my 700 the Krylon Touch.  The Krylon Camo paint is pretty tough and looks good.

You can make a pretty good camo pattern by using grass, leaves, etc as a stencil over a base coat.

You've really got the "JUST IN CASE" covered when it comes to aiming that rifle.
Scope, red dot, and pop ups iron sights.

Paint a rifle, or any firearm? not just NO,  but HELL NO!    these fine firearms are not some model car kit, altho some seem to change every part or hang every accessory made on it, leave them alone and shoot them,

Well, the scope has quick release.  The red dot is a cheap one but it is aligned with the scope and has a surprisingly good reticle.   In the old days iron sights would have been it for me.  Now, I need all the help I can get.
