.22lr 40 gr 1070 FPS ammo starts at 10 cents a round and goes up.

The reason .22lr is still so high is because it is still scarce.  It appears to me that the 9mm is being offered close to what it was pre-panic.  Palmetto State Armory has been selling 9mm 115 gr at some pretty good prices.

Today I purchased a 300 rd. box of 22lr. cci for $19.95 at Wally World, limit one box per customer. It wasn't that long ago the shelves were packed with boxes of 500 rds. for around $5.00.

500 rounds for $5.00?!  :o  I don't think I ever found that price.  I bought several 500 round boxes for around $13.00 at WallyWorld and Scheels.

When I was a kid I used to buy it for $5.00/500 as the S&S store where my mom worked (precursor of Bomgars for you small town folks).  Plus I got at 10% discount.  :)

I have never bought 22lr that cheap from walmart.... cheapest is golden bullets for 9.99 per 225 and Federal bulk for 23ish. I'm not old enough for the 5 for a penny. ;D
