Interesting article on new Castle Doctrine law in Montana
SBarry:
The Montanan who got all this started spoke at GRPC last weekend in St. Louis. They are really getting after it in Montana.
One new bill introduced, called "The Sheriffs Bill", would make it a crime for a federal agent to arrest any Montana resident without notifying the sheriff in the county the arrest would be taking place. The offending federal agent will be arrested if the bill is passed.
GO MONTANA!
DanClrk51:
Go Montana! Both of these cases were clear self defense if all of the facts presented are correct. The Bill is working exactly the way it should. We need to include this in our bill as well (The State has to proove guilt. The accused should not have to proove that they are inoccent).
The Walmart case: Schmidt was obviously in the right since he got punched and fell to the ground by a twice the size man as he is. I think it is outrageous that the fat boss that punched him to the ground has not been charged!
The bar case: Metzger had received threats from Finch and even reported these to the police. He was being beaten down to the ground and probably would have been killed had he not used the knife.
End of Story period! The fat Lira should be charged with assault and both Metzger and Schmidt should be free to go without charges!
