S & W 625
Chris Z:
My ultimate revolver, the Smith and Wesson model 625. The "N" frame 6 shot .45 ACP which uses moon clips. This gun is big, but awesome for shooting Action Pistol (USPSA) and also for shooting bowling pins.
I have the 5" barrel which I prefer, however they also make a 4" barrel model which can be used if shooting IDPA.

Been seriously looking at one of these. How big of a pain is it to load the moon clips?
Chris Z:
The trick is to buy alot of them, load them at home while watching TV. Some are easier than others. But not fun to do at the range.
A moon clip stripper from Brownells is a neccesity definitely!

The also have tools available to help load, but I haven't tried these.
S&W is no longer offering the 5" model 625, so if you want one of those you will have to look hard. They still have the 4" model though.

I'm also looking at a Taurus Stellar. This is a discontinued item that a local dealer has new. It's a titanium framed revolver in .45ACP. It uses the moon clips but they are easy to load and unload by hand. It's the same model as this one http://www.gunblast.com/Taurus_Tracker.htm but with a titanium frame and fixed sights.
He'll sell it to me for $450.00. I've read reviews and in the all steel it gets mostly raves. I haven't been able to find a review on the lightweight titanium version, however. I'm a bit worried about muzzle flip with the light weight of the pistol. Still, for $450.00..............that's about $200.00 less than it retailed for so I'm pretty tempted. Don't think I'd get hurt.
Dunno. Any thoughts?
Chris Z:
Spend the money on the S&W!!!!!!
I first purchased a Taurus .45acp tracker revolver, and ended up selling it. That light weight frame couldn't take the .45 loads well, it was brutal on the gun. Everything would come loose when shooting it, the cylinder fell out and all! Taurus quality is poor in my opinion (I have owned 2 of them)
Trust me the S&W is worth the extra $200.
I really wish Ruger would make one, but unfortunately they don't
