Match Etiquette: USPSA, Steel Challenge, and Multigun

I didn't earn my "everyone fear the red-head" persona easily. I am often one who will grab a box of pasters (or a can of paint) and fling it at the guy sitting on his butt watching everyone else work. If you are in my squad, and are able to shoot the match, you WILL help reset the stages. If you have an injury that means you have significant difficulty and/or pain walking around the bay 10-12 times, you are more than welcome to take on the paperwork job of getting the shooting order written down, recording scores, etc. We can find something for you to do to help out.
As it has been mentioned a lot above, WE ALL VOLUNTEER and we still pay for the match. The biggest peeve I've had this year was a new(er) shooter telling me "I'm not pasting or painting, that is YOUR JOB!" Believe me, he got a bit of an earful after that. ;)
We try to be nice about the fact that you are sitting on your a$$ once or twice, but if we have to get the cattle prod out to get you motivated to pick up a box of pasters, we will. I love the big matches. Watch the GMs and Ms get out there and work. Heck, I've even seen a GM or two grab a box of pasters right after holstering his gun to paste as he followed the RO.

I will admit from time to time I've gotten absorbed in yapping with a fellow shooter and have needed a reminder to help paste, but I do try to help out as much as possible. The few times I needed reminded I didn't get upset, but it takes an awful lot to make me mad, especially when I know I'm the one at fault. I generally also see most of my fellow shooters do a pretty good job of helping out when I've shot at ENGC. From what I've heard, some other clubs have a much bigger problem, so I think that speaks to the quality of people we have around here.
I'm not a USPSA RO (I need to get that taken care of one of these days), but I do often end up helping out running the Nook / clipboard for my squad just because I think a lot of people are intimidated by it. It's not difficult at all, you just have to pay attention.

Oh man... now I'm disappointed. Just a verbal thrashing? I figured that sort of thing would at least result in a trip to ER and a few stitches.
I'm not nearly so scared of you now. :) (You will note I am saying this from behind the safety of a keyboard though.)
