We need to lobby congress to pass a law that if you try to f**k with the 2nd amendment it is treated the same as treason.
It IS the same as treason. Those politicians who want to "compromise" with the Constitution took an oath to "
support and defend" it, to "
take this OBLIGATION willingly, and with out mental reservation or purpose of evasion". Since the right to bear arms "
shall not be infringed", those who infringe it were lying when they took their oath of office, regardless of how "reasonable" they claim to be.
The dictionary gives one meaning of "infringe":
act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on... Historically, it derives from the act of cutting fringes into the edges of a blanket, which reduces its coverage. Then, as the fringes wear or fall off, new fringes are cut in, and so on till the blanket is no more. All these "reasonable restrictions" (which is an oxymoron) in the 2A are deliberate infringements designed to eventually trim away the amendment. It's time to hold politicians feet to the fire in regards to their sworn oath, or impeach them.
