I'm a PSA fan.... though shipping is almost the price of the mag.   Maybe add a few boxes of Independence 5.56mm 55gr FMJ 20rds @ $5.79 to help take the sting out of the shipping.

i bought some 5rd mags from Cabelas a couple of years ago.... funny thing was you could fit 7 or 8 rounds in it and still load with the BCG closed, so i sold them.  i used to used some straight bodied 20rd PMAGS, but now that they are $25 a pop, i sold them too.  so now i'm down to my many 30rd'ers and would like to modify them since they are cheap and plentiful.

Ironically, my Thermold five rounders are more like 4 rounders as the sides of the mag bow so badly when loaded with five, it takes real effort to insert the mag into the gun, and it would be a REAL bear to pull it back out fully loaded

DenmanShooter:
Take a Bic pen and remove the nib and ink tube.

Insert a brass wood screw of appropriate size into the pen tube where the nib used to be.

Slide the base about 1/2 inch off a 30 round GI mag.

Insert the Bic pen case into the magazine making sure it goes in freely.

Replace the base.

Zero cost.  No measuring or cutting.
