Calling Coyotes
SemperFiGuy:
Time for an Update.
Anybody Busting Any Coyotes.............??
I bought this brannew Savage B-Mag .17WSM for hunting the creeks and thickets.......shorter call-in shots. You know....That SuperFast Nail-Gun-Cartridge Rimfire Rifle.
Went and sat along a promising creek bed in Otoe County. Tooted my critter call. Coyote came out of hiding immediately. He stood still. And then posed sideways nicely. Whereupon I tried to take the shot with the front lens cap on. Then the bill on my cap hit the scope. And knocked off my hat. And glasses. Then a branch slapped my cheek. Made my eyes water.
Eventually I recovered and shot. Coyote ran.
I can still hear him laughing.

Haven't been out yet either, anyone know what the pelts look like? Mange? My son popped 2 next to his calving lot yesterday but not sure he spent time looking at the hide.
Waltherfan:
Hopefully I did the attachment correctly. Coyote at Chalco Hills last Friday. Been doing my shooting with a camera lately.
SemperFiGuy:
Well, that's a very nice coyote pic.
And..........
I wish I could get my bird dog to point like that.
Also, I'm hopin' maybe that coyote will venture outside of Chalco Hills.
Plus.......that pelt appears to be in prime condition.

Waltherfan:
Thanks.
It's pelt is probably looking good from eating the neighborhood pet food
