As we state over and over again, this organization runs on volunteers. And each year we honor a member that has stood out in stepping up to further the direction of not only the NFOA, but firearms rights in general.
This year I had the honor of presenting Dave Beatty (aka HuskerXDM) with the Firearm Rights Champion Award. (Since we had no events in the near future, I had to crash one of his CHP classes)
Dave has been a great asset to the organization- Helping to man expo booths such as the Women's Expo and the Scheel's Hunt Expo, speaking to his CHP students about the NFOA. Dave was instrumental in helping the 1st NFOA Legislative Summit be a success. And recently agreed to give a course to a local TV reporter who ran a story of her experience. This report helped to remove many preconceived notions of those of us that carry for self defense. (and Dave even sported his NFOA gear for media exposure
)
So please join be in thanking Dave for all his hard work on behalf of the NFOA and gun owners everywhere.
