THE WELL ARMED WOMAN-OMAHA Chapter Meet N Greet!
« on: February 25, 2015, 08:12:54 PM »
Ladies,

Join friends old and new for a fun, 'get-to-know-you' event, March 7th-Saturday, where we will paint and enjoy a glass of wine, beer, coffee or soda. In addition, $10 from each registration fee goes to TWAW organization.

Social begins at 1 p.m.; painting starts at 1:30 p.m.  We are painting our unique rendition of Dragonfly. The dragonfly is symbolic of change, and its a beautiful representation of progress, evolution, etc.

This is a great chance to meet other like minded females as well as find out more about our chapter. Limited seating is available. Click here to register on-line:

Hope to see you there!

Gentlemen-feel free to share this with the ladies (21 and over) in your life.

My Sincere Pleasure..........

And it appears from the get-go that you and your group are going to have a Most Excellent Event.

Add a little Dragonfly poetry (...shimmering wings...graceful arcs of flight...softly humming sounds..) and you'll have them clamoring for more:
=============================================

The Dragon-fly By Alfred Lord Tennyson

Today I saw the dragon-fly
Come from the wells where he did lie.
An inner impulse rent the veil
Of his old husk: from head to tail
Came out clear plates of sapphire mail.
He dried his wings: like gauze they grew;
Thro’ crofts and pastures wet with dew
A living flash of light he flew.

The Dragonfly

By Louise Bogan

You are made of almost nothing

But of enough

To be great eyes

And diaphanous double vans;

To be ceaseless movement,

Unending hunger

Grappling love.

Link between water and air,

Earth repels you.

Light touches you only to shift into iridescence

Upon your body and wings.

Twice-born, predator,

You split into the heat.

Swift beyond calculation or capture

You dart into the shadow

Which consumes you.

You rocket into the day.

But at last, when the wind flattens the grasses,

For you, the design and purpose stop.

And you fall

With the other husks of summer.

But Wait!   There's More!!

Beautiful Quotes About Dragonflies

Clouds of insects danced and buzzed in the golden autumn light, and the air was full of the piping of the song-birds. Long, glinting dragonflies shot across the path, or hung tremulous with gauzy wings and gleaming bodies.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Time is for dragonflies and angels.
The former live too little and the latter live too long."
James Thurber

... "A boy can run and chase dragonflies , because that is his nature," she said.
From the movie, “The Joy Luck Club.
