Everyone should shoot Heavy Metal Tactical this year.  No, really.  :)

Page 65 for specifics of this division:
http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/RifleShotgunMultigun%20Rules%201-1-2014final.pdf

Why?  Because.....we need more people shooting this division!

...and I bought a AR in .308.  And I'm crazy.  And since you all are also, you should do it too.

Seriously, though----I've already got three other people who've decided to join me in HMT.  And I know some of the rest of you have tried it once or twice, but stopped because there weren't enough people in the division.  Well, let's fix that this year!

Equipment for Heavy Metal Tactical:
  • .308 for the rifle, mags loaded with no more than 20 rounds (dang it, I have the new 25-rounders with a Taran Tactical base pad that would give me 31 rounds...), can have one magnified optic on it
  • Limited-10 Major required rules for handgun so a handgun in .40 or larger, no more than 10 rounds in the magazine after the start signal.
  • 12 gauge for the shotgun, but can be a semi-auto.

...for most of you folks, that just means you need to pull out that .308 and get some military surplus .308 for it, and maybe grab your 1-4X or 1-6X off your .223 and put it on your .308.

I'm borrowing a .40 from my wife (I only own 9mm, and no, I don't want to hear it).

....boy, I had better get some bag pouches for a .308 mag.  Whoops.

You guys should shoot HMT too!

Just wanted to bump this up to remind people:

1) to sign up for the Multigun match on the 15th, and
2) to sign up for HEAVY METAL TACTICAL (or as we like to call it, "The Men's Division")

Women are welcome also.  :)

C'mon, people, you know you want to shoot an actual MAJOR caliber rifle in an action sport.

Heavy Metal division equipment rules start on page 65:  http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/RifleShotgunMultigun%20Rules%201-1-2014final.pdf

Rifle has to be a .308 or larger (but not too much larger because if you shoot through our steel targets you literally have to buy us new ones) with a magazine limit of 20 round max in the mag after the start signal, handgun must be .40 or larger with a magazine limit of 10, shotgun must be 12 gauge, max of nine rounds to start in it.  1 optical sight on the rifle allowed.

In Heavy Metal Limited, guns are similar, but: 1) shotgun must be a pumpgun, 2) handgun is minimum caliber .44, and no optics on the rifle.

So obviously, you should all shoot Heavy Metal Tactical. :)

Make sure to pre-register!

So, by shooting major we can only use one rifle/pistol hit on paper?

That's true for major or minor.  Any one hit in the A or B zone is sufficient to neutralize the target.

You get only Cs or Ds, you still have to get two hits---no matter what caliber.

So---aim every time, and only take one shot per target.  :)

'Cause we are stupid, and haven't been spending ENOUGH MONEY YET on Multigun.

 ;D

Or we are crazy.  That's a possibility also.

I've decided I'm going to shoot HMT with a flint lock. I'll probably be faster than I was last match...
