7.62x39 subsonic

kevins7189:
Been looking for recipes for 7.62x39 subsonic.  Only one I could find uses a powder I've never heard of Vihtavuori N160 Smokeless Powder.  Is that available anywhere around here? w/150gr bullet and 1.27 grams of powder.
Anyone have any other recipes?
"Assuming" it should be pretty similar loads to 300BLK subsonic, like accurate 1680 with 220gr bullet ~11grain.
I'm thinking maybe trying to reverse engineer the ones I have before I run out, Engel "Jackhammers" 220gr.
thanks!

where are you going to get .311" 220gr bullets? or are you just going to put .308 down the larger bore?

kevins7189:
.308 and .311 are only .003 different and seems to be common to shoot .308 in .311 barrels.
It worked for me, here is a wolf 7.62x39 (measures .311) and the jackhammer subsonic 220gr measure .308.

the 303 british and I think the 7.7 jap both use 311-312 bullets, they might make a heavy you can use,

what are you shooting these out of?  I use cast 220 grain in my 300 whisper

From what I can see a .308 220gr should work.  Just wondering if anyone has experience/recipes for this.
And, if this Vihtavuori N160 Smokeless Powder is available locally?
