Lint in Carry Gun

(1/2) > >>

depserv:
Whether or not I shoot my carry gun this often, I make it a point to take it apart and change oil every few months.  I don't put excessive oil on it; I just like to make sure what is there is clean.

Today I noticed more lint than usual, especially in the barrel.  It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I cleaned it last.  I'm guessing I must have been wearing lintier clothes or something.

I'm a little curious about how much lint it would take to be a problem.  When I take my carry gun to the range and shoot it I do it without cleaning off any lint, and it always functions flawlessly (which should be expected from a Glock).

I carry it in a strong side Crossbreed belt holster, and wear a shirt or sweatshirt over it.

Anyone else notice lint accumulating over time on their carry gun?  Or am I just a lint magnet?  Has anyone ever had it cause a problem?

Mudinyeri:
Not much lint on mine.  I don't wear much "linty" clothing.

mott555:
I get some lint in the hammer of my carry gun. Doesn't seem to affect it one bit.

bkoenig:
Between dead skin and lint mine gets NASTY.  Never seems to cause a problem though.

ILoveCats:
In a pocket gun I get a bit of dust, lint, etc.  This is why I like Froglube on mine. Seems to keep it "slick" and operating smoothly without having any wet oil or grease that attracts lint.
