If you are an NRA member, you might look into simply adding more coverage (in addition to the free amount you get) through them.

I went with Farmers because of previous good experiences with them for homeowners, have many items listed (non-firearm as well) along with rough $ value in separate riders. My agent didn't bat an eye.

Latebloomer:
Funny a question like this should come up as my home was burglarized in April and basically all that was taken was my guns. My HOI provider is IMT out of Des Moines IA and they covered everything except the deductible without question and without prior record of ownership. And (according to my adjuster) no increase in premium.
