Kudos to the Chief for taking the time to write such an article to address questions that many citizens have.

Of course it appears he "made up his own FACT" in the story.......

Examples of weapons that cannot be concealed on or about your person without a permit are firearms, a knife with a blade longer than three and a half inches, brass knuckles or any other deadly weapon. Conceal carry permit holders have a host of places they cannot carry weapons into. These places include churches, schools, bars and government buildings, just to name a few. As a matter of fact, you cannot carry weapons that are not concealed into these places either.

Gunscribe:
He is making stuff up either intentionally or he is woefully ignorant of the law. Either way it is conduct unbecoming of a public official.

Dan W:
Does not seem to be much in that article that is accurate

RobertH:
the last line says: "If you are unsure about a weapons law, don’t hesitate to contact us anytime."

i know i will NOT be contacting him for interpretation of the law, he is not a lawyer.... and most likely wrong anyway.

Wymore Wrangler:
Before conceal carry become law in Nebraska, I challenged Chief Lang over his authority to sign hand gun purchase permits for the entire county because the Sheriff was to lazy to do his job.  State law requires the Sheriff to do it if the local Chief doesn't and I live in Wymore, and the County Attorney agreed with me.  Now they have put it in a formal memorandum but I believe it is still an invalid signature...  Chief Lang informed me that he was the only qualified in the County to read the NIC check (I'm a retired Navy Intelligence Specialist Chief Petty Officer so he wrong at that assumption) He also told me that he personally adjudicates the NIC check, if it's a disqualifier in another state, but not by Nebraska law, he pretends that it is and disapproves the application.  I've reported it to the BAFTE and the State AG those many years ago but you know they wouldn't go after a Chief of Police...
