Quote from the article: "... if we can save one life, then we have to take action."

Really???    ???

I'm gonna propose a law that before you can run for elected office you have to write a doctoral dissertation on utilitarianism.

Quote from the article: "As part of the deal, the government would purchase guns from gun owners at 25% over market value of the firearms."

so your saying that i can sell the government my old gun for for 25% more then it's worth and go buy a new gun and a few mags with the extra money lol....
I will allow myself one personal observation. If you want to disarm yourself, that is your choice. The following quote is a favorite of mine and something to keep in mind when you make that choice.

“Sheep don’t tell wolves what’s for dinner.”

Next there will be a book buyback: books that contain thought that has been forbidden by liberalism, America's official state religion, will be bought back and destroyed, no questions asked.  After the buyback it will be a felony to be in possession of one.  At the top of the list: the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bible.  Also included in the buyback will be unauthorized history books and books on logic.
The liberal cult seeks destruction of the American Republic like water seeks low ground.

Yeah...except you bought the gun once, then YOUR tax dollars are used to buy it back at an increased rate, then you get to buy it again and pay sales tax.

Always amuses me how our government throws money at worthless solutions.  As long as you understand that States will collect the money and most likely additional  pay for the effort and someone else is expecting some sort of money in their pockets (and a token effort that may satisfy a few sorrowfully idiotic persons)...it all makes sense.
