Ammunition & Hand Loading > Cartridge and Shotshell reloading
Case material. Steel, nickel plated, or...?
OnTheFly:
I've got a lot of these, and I'm wondering if I can reload them.
Fly
shooter:
sure you can, those cases are just nickel plated brass cases. I load lead bullets in my brass, and jacketed in my nickel, just to keep it all the same ( you can file off the nickel and see the brass underneath,)
OnTheFly:
You know, I could have just used a magnet to determine whether they are steel if I had thought of that earlier. DUH!
That's why they don't give me tools at work. Just $40,000,000 highly automated airplanes to fly. ::)
Fly
SemperFiGuy:
Tumble them enuf, soon the nickel plating will start to wear thin.
Eventually even be gone. Worn off.
Then they're back to plain old ordinary everyday brass cases.
