Targeted, the Movie (Review)

(1/3) > >>

Mudinyeri:
Went to see the movie Targeted: The Gun Control Agenda last night.

I was somewhat disappointed by the rather stale and short-sighted approach.  The movie seems to suggest that the "gun control agenda" started with the Sandy Hook shooting and ignored the decades of gun control agenda preceding that event.  There was very little in the way of new material put forth and the "spirited" debate at the end of the movie was like watching a Facebook argument about gun control.  Filmmaker, Jesse Winton exposed nothing new of the gun control agenda and, as one might expect, the attendees were mostly already like-minded individuals.  Our showing at the Village Pointe theater had perhaps ten or twelve attendees.

There were a few bright spots.

Katie Pavlich was well-prepared and presented excellent arguments throughout the movie and during the on-screen debate afterward.  I plan to start reading her online magazine and buy her book.

The movie did present some interesting information about the Constitution and tyranny.

RLMoeller:
I wasn't able to attend since I work evenings.  Teresa went to the showing in Bellevue and said there were about 22 people in attendance.  Jeremy said there were 11 in Lincoln.

Les:
I've considered going but was waiting to hear if it was worthy, plus I hate listening to people chomp popcorn.

^ Pretty much what he said. It took me a bit to catch up to the idea that this was a response to the latest big Push for control, that was springboarded by events like Sandy Hook.  There was quite a bit of typical rhetoric throughout.
That being said, I felt it was done well, and there is much to learn for those not quite as entrenched as many here are.  I hope to obtain a copy for the NFOA's use in educating events such as the Legislative Summit this fall.
I, too, appreciated the take on What Tyranny was.

The attorney lady with the debate.  Something struck me during her closing statement.  To the effect that ; ' We value life in this Nation. We strive to make life better, make life longer, etc. We must honor life and push to make everyone safe."
Ok, but what made this Unites State great is that those before us,  held God and Liberty in similar value, maybe more. For what is Life without Liberty?
