Sorry about going off-topic.  I started out responding to this comment:

The attorney lady with the debate.  Something struck me during her closing statement.  To the effect that ; ' We value life in this Nation. We strive to make life better, make life longer, etc. We must honor life and push to make everyone safe."

and then lost control of myself.  I'll try to maintain better control in the future.

For the complete story of the nationally self destructive exercise in futility known as Prohibition, I suggest you watch Ken Burns' documentary with the same name. The Omaha and Lincoln public libraries have copies. While their target is different, gun grabbers are much like alcohol prohibitionists.
