RobertH:
thanks for these posts.  i have kept putting off doing my research.  but now i am done!

Judges, I have taken a quick look at the Douglas county level judges. The only Judge I could not support is Crnkovich.

There is also a push to remove Jeffrey Marcuzzo, he was the judge in the Sarah Root case. After talking with both prosecutors and defense attorneys I have come to believe this would be wrong. The bail amount he set was the standard for a case like this. The complete failure falls on ICE who should have placed a hold on the defendant. He is supported by the trial lawyers and OPD to retain, so when both sides support you you must be doing things in the best interest of the community. If anyone has any questions on this one for me send me a note and I can go into more detail.

I'm having trouble remembering his name right now but there was also the Judge that would not allow police officers to carry in his courtroom. From what I have been able to find out this is a judge that both defense and prosecution likes and he has been throughly corrected on his error. At this time I could find no other reason to counter this.

A friend of the NFOA that is a former prosecutor asked me to pass along a request for folks not to just go down the list and say remove on all the judges. We as taxpayers spend a lot of money every year on training ect. for these judges and it would be bad to remove judges that have done nothing wrong. However she also supports the removal of Judge Crnkovich from the juvenile court.

How about Mike Heavican as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?  Any opinion on how he has done?

And any opinion of William Cassel on the Supreme Court?

We have a strongly-written right to keep and bear arms guarantee in our state Constitution, put there by ballot initiative quite a few years ago, so I suppose our state Supreme Court could feasibly rule on some of the illegal gun control laws the state and some cities have passed, or might pass.  I assume this is the Court that would decide a challenge like that anyway.  Does anyone know if these two judges are patriot, as in they interpret law based on what its words and authors say it means, or are they liberal, as in they base interpretation on what they would like the law to say?  Are the kind of judges one might expect to have been appointed by a Trump or by a Clinton, in other words?

Since these two were appointed by Heineman I assume them to be patriots, and will vote for them unless I hear different from someone who knows more than I do about this subject.  I just wondered if anyone knew anything about their record, since I haven't found anything on it.

The rest I'll just vote to keep in office.  Except the one named by AAllen, Crnkovich.

Thanks for all the work you guys do by the way; I really do appreciate it.
