Within the same state, ( at least in Nebraska ) that is correct, when crossing state lines, an FFL is required on the receiving end

 first, delete this whole thread,      Then give your daughter the gun, and shes had that gun her whole life, it was never yours, you just held onto it for her until they got settled,
