If the NRA is successful, under federal law every state would be forced to honor a carry permit issued in any other state. That means concealed carry permits designed for rural Mississippi would be valid in urban Philadelphia, and there appears to be virtually nothing the local law enforcement community could do about it.

Wow, way to cherry pick and show your bias. I will grant that there are not any cities in Mississippi with the same population as Philadelphia, PA but what about the biggest city in Mississippi (Jackson, pop. 170,674) where they have "big city" woes instead of a small town?
Additionally, the permit laws aren't written for big cities or small towns,but for the people based upon our rights guaranteed by the second amendment of the US Constitution.

ya ya got to love the liberal media .... they all way try to make it out that all the killing in **** holes like Chicago, Detroit etc are all committed by hard working legal gun owners . in no way shape or form are they crimes committed by gang members, drug dealers , dirt-bags , repeat felon offenders or the scum of the earth ...

as we all know that felons would never be in possession of a firearm!!!! they would not dare brake a law that says they" felons can no longer possess a firearm"   so it must be some out standing , law biding person doing all this shooting .....  so as it must be all the law biding people then i no way shape or form should anyone be able to CC ..... /end_liberal_slant

 we can't keep punishing honest people for crimes scumbags commit. there is not a reason honest people can't be trusted to take a class , do some range time and meet a passing grade to get a permit "that felons can't apply for" and carry a gun ...  the felons can't apply for part all ways gets left out by the liberal media too ...
