NRA Applauds Neil Gorsuch's Nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court

Fairfax, Va.—  The National Rifle Association (NRA) applauds the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat on the United States Supreme Court.

“President Trump has made an outstanding choice in nominating Judge Gorsuch for the U.S. Supreme Court. He has an impressive record that demonstrates his support for the Second Amendment,” said Chris W. Cox, Executive Director, NRA-ILA. “We urge the Senate to swiftly confirm Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, just as it did in confirming him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit by a unanimous voice vote.”

During his tenure on the Tenth Circuit, Gorsuch has demonstrated his belief that the Constitution should be applied as the framers intended.  To that end, he has supported the individual right to self-defense.  Specifically, he wrote in an opinion that "the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to own firearms and may not be infringed lightly."

“On behalf of our five million members, the NRA strongly supports Judge Neil Gorsuch's confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court. We will be activating our members and tens of millions of supporters throughout the country in support of Judge Gorsuch.  He will protect our right to keep and bear arms and is an outstanding choice to fill Justice Scalia's seat,” concluded Cox.

Trump fulfilling one of his most important promises is good news for America, and indicates a brighter future for those who love freedom.

Hopefully Ginsberg will retire soon so she can be replaced by a loyal American.  Replacing the patriot Scalia with another patriot is a very good thing, but replacing a corrupter of law like Ginsberg with one who will uphold and defend the law is one step better.

Clinton's other appointment, Breyer, should retire too, but probably won't.  At 78 though, maybe he will retire before Trump's (hopefully) eight years are up.  But my guess is, an ideologue like him will stay on the Court even if he has to be brought in to the bench on a hospital bed, just to keep himself from being replaced by one who will not corrupt the law like he did.

I heard something about Kennedy maybe thinking about retiring.  While he was a great deal better than Ginsberg, he's been less than perfect enough that his replacement by a Trump appointment should improve the Court.

I heard something awhile back about Clarence Thomas thinking about retiring, though this has been said to be what is now being called fake news.  It's good to know though that if he does, between now and eight years from now, he will be replaced by someone who respects and will defend the law as well as he has done.

I think the Obama appointees, Sotomayor and Kagan, should be impeached, for contempt of the oath they swore to uphold and defend the Constitution.  The Constitution does say that they will serve "during good behaviour," and I would not call flagrant contempt of one's oath good behaviour.  This should be done with Ginsberg and Breyer too of course, but given their age it isn't as important with them.

The liberal cult, led by the traitor Chuck Schumer, will do its best to derail Trump's appointments to the High Court, because they know the effect a majority of loyal Americans will have on their un-American agenda.  And their PR machine the liberal press will assist them in that effort.  But with the help of the same patriots who got Trump elected, their efforts will be fail.

Thomas Hardiman was very high on the list. Think he was present at the nomination. Keep an eye on him as a possible pick if there is a 2nd nomination.
