like the dam sign is going to stop a criminal ... "criminal says to him self" i better drive to that other gas station to rob it ..it don't have a no guns allowed sign on it's door ...

I agree with you.  Cassidy also makes a decent point, and I'll only say I agree with him on this because quite a few people that have come through my CHP classes have said some version of this:  Some people decide they aren't going to carry on-body but they want the gun hidden in their vehicle.  Maybe it's because it is a hassle to take the gun on/off, but some people do say they just want it in there.  I can't carry in to work, but I carry on the way to work, so I would fall into the category you described.

I purchased a safe and bolted it to my pickup floor. It fits inside my large consol so no one knows it's there. I keep my handgun in the safe at all times that I'm not using it.  Am I legal?

There have been a lot of guns stolen from cars in Lincoln, though. So whatever you think of the law its not a good idea to leave guns unattended in your car.

Especially when you leave the car unlocked.   Anyone that leaves their car unlocked and is surprised something was stolen from it needs to be checked for a pulse.  Every week I see people posting on Facebook about more **** stolen from their car, and 95% of the time it was unlocked.   How can a person NOT KNOW that will happen?  Talk about living in condition White.

Dave, I've got the same set up in my Dodge Ram.   Having a CHP I only use it when I'll be in a prohibited area.  I never use the "truck safe" for storage other than that.  It's either on my person or in the house safe.

I don't know if you're legal.  Good question.
