See how the camel's nose wedges farther and farther into the tent?
The 2A says that the right to bear arms shall NOT be infringed. The lower court tried to trim some more fringe off of the 2A by "reading" into it that the right only applies to bearing arms within the home. It is a minor miracle that the 9th ruled the way they did. But, being that its Marxist judges making most of the anti-2A rulings, this interpretation will probably be construed to apply only to the 9th district. However, when a district judge makes a ruling against Trump's legal duty to uphold the laws, he claims it applies to the entire nation.
Our nation is at logger-heads with two camps that have views which are entirely incompatible, and no compromise will ever hold. The Marxist want to dump the Constitution and the rule of law it empowers in favor of a Manifesto dictated by a ruling elite. Conservatives will never agree to that. Things have gone far enough toward Socialism.
The Democrat Party has jumped the shark and is now speaking openly in public about doing what they said privately ... push Marxist political goals. Feinstein, Waters and Polosi have publically slipped in the past by blurting out that they would socialize corporations and suspend the Bill of Rights. Now they say it openly. The NY candidate that defeated the 4th ranking Democrat senator is a Che Guevara admirer and a self-declared Communist. There are almost 100 congressmen in the "Progressive Congressional Caucaus". "Progressive" is just a euphemism for Marxist.

Seriously doubt this filing will survive an appeal to the full court (en banc) if granted

I've seen a lot of speculation that the reason this panel ruled this way was because they want to prevent an anti-2nd amendment full court ruling getting appealed and then going to the Supreme Court. With Kavanaugh's hopeful confirmation there's a good chance any firearms cases would go our way.
I'm not a lawyer and I usually stay in my RV instead of a Holiday Inn Express, so I have no idea if that's true.
