It's already being discussed in the full members area, but it's definitely something we'll have to fight against in the new session.

Why are there secret forums?

They are for Full Members. You can be a member of the NFOA and/or a member of the forum. Basically two different databases, you have to be in both to unlock them. Admin can help straighten it out.

There should not be secret forums.

a reason we have secret forums is this..... we talk and vote about the bills in the Unicam, meeting agendas, etc.  in order to do this in somewhat some secrecy, private forums are required.  in order for an anti-gunner to see this, they must be an forum member and an NFOA member.  not many anti's want to be a member of our organization.

there is also a women's only sub forum, which i cannot see.

tons of forums operate like this.  it is nothing new.

Hi Ryan,

Are you a resident of Nebraska? The reason I ask, is full membership in NFOA has requirements beyond being a member of this forum. Membership in the organization is separate from membership in the forum.  A member does not need to be a member of the forum, and a forum member can be a non-member. Hence the separation. We provide a portion of our forum to non-members because of many reasons, a few are that it provides a community for firearms owners, it provides a means to educate non-nebraskans about what is going on in Nebraska and for others from other states to post information of value to our members, etc. We have portions of our forum that are for the exclusive use of NFOA members. They are not secret forums, just not open to the public in general.

Feb 28th, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Judiciary Committee  LB58 - Red Flag Law and other will be taking testimony!

To submit testimony for or against a bill, send an email to the Committee Chair Senator Steve Lathrop: slathrop@leg.ne.gov
Make sure to do so before Feb 28th at 1:30.

Additionally, the letter must include your name and address, state a position of for, against, or neutral on the bill in question and include a request for the letter to be included as part of the public hearing record.

Submit testimony or, show up and testify in person! Judiciary Committee Warner Chamber on the 2nd floor of the Capitol.
Government not being restrained by the Constitution as written is tyranny pure and simple.

A related article to this thread: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/bethbaumann/2019/03/10/2a-supporters-dont-be-so-quick-to-assume-gun-control-bills-will-die-in-the-senate-n2542544

This article is dead on about not trusting the U.S. Senate to do the right thing and kill the proposed legislation. But, the article says that if it does pass we should continue to fight against it - something that will take years, if not a decade or so, to get it repealed, if ever. Meanwhile, there will be good people that will become victims of this bill for no bona fide reason.
