How do you call your dogs in the midwest?

Well, didn't see RUGER there anywheres.
And there are several around that I know of, so named.

And........Guess a good matched pair of Brittanies could be called Smith and Wesson.

And a Spinone Italiano could respond to Benelli or Beretta.

My next bird dog will be named after a recent past president.   Because of the matrilinearity.

Were I ever to get a tiny dog I would be naming it Taurus. For so many reasons after owning a few.
